DFAT and the Australian APEC Study Centre run a symposium focusing on good policy and regulatory practices in facilitating trade and investment in financial services in the APEC region

At the APEC symposium on "Facilitating best practice policies for trade and investment in financial services", held in Singapore on 27-28 November 2012, regulators, trade officials and private sector representatives from 13 APEC economies (Australia, China, Indonesia, Malaysia, Thailand, Vietnam, Japan, Chinese Taipei, Hong Kong China, Singapore, the Philippines, Mexico and Peru) discussed the regulation of trade and investment in financial services.







The report that was created at the conclusion on the symposium summarises the key outcomes, including common themes arising from the discussion of good practices to guide policy makers and regulators in adopting and maintaining open and transparent financial services sectors.
